Dear Shambhala Friends,
We hope you are all safe, healthy, and finding ways to stay connected and nourished. We feel gratitude for the resilience, exertion, and good heart of everyone who has helped us pivot quickly, allowing us to meet this challenging time. We are filled with appreciation for all of you – our many supporters who have stood by us as we faced what seemed like insurmountable obstacles. We are also aware of the genuine suffering not only in our sangha but throughout the world due to illness, financial stress, and injustice. We feel grateful to be part of a community that values the teachings of our lineage and what we offer the world.
Closing down and cancelling almost all in-person programming in 2020 has created a huge financial challenge for each of us and, with the support of the Shambhala Board, we sent a message to all Shambhala members worldwide in April 2020 to ask for your help. This collective and cooperative request for support was very well received and the Land Centres are again joining together to reach out to you – both to update you on where we are now and to ask for your support.
The following links provide brief updates on each of our financial situations and a short narrative of what we have been doing to meet the challenges of 2020. We’ve worked hard to adapt and overcome the obstacles of this year, but it is clear we still need your financial support.
- Dechen Chöling – France
- Dorje Denma Ling – Nova Scotia
- Karme Chöling – Vermont
- Shambhala Mountain Center – Colorado
We know the Land Centres have been places of deep personal and spiritual development for many of you. We want to ensure that the places you love may continue to support and nourish generations of practitioners to come. Working together as Land Centre Directors, we again make this collective request to the sangha.
