Our winter meditation retreat will be a precious occasion for reflection and renewal during the winter solstice and the new year. Join us for these few days of “mindfulness” meditation, in attention, relaxation, silence and celebration. It’s a great way to start the year.
We will celebrate New Year’s Eve with a festive dinner and a circle of “wishes for the world”.
This programme will be based on sitting and walking meditations. The meditation technique we will present is called Shamatha, “peaceful abiding”. This practice develops the intrinsic qualities of our mind: clarity, strength and stability, and it cultivates attention and mindfulness in our daily lives. We will also present physical exercises that will help us relieve our tensions, relax and appease us.
Talks and guided contemplations will inspire us and offer practical ideas for us to live our lives fully and to have a better appreciation of its richness.
The daily programme will include meditation and exercise sessions, talks, group discussions, personal interviews with a meditation instructor, and periods of household, cooking or other ‘rota’ enabling to practice meditation in action. We will be able to spend our free time to reading, relaxing or walking in the splendid Dechen Chöling park.
This retreat is open to both beginners and experienced meditators.
