QIGONG 1&2: PEACEFUL BODY, PEACEFUL MIND

When the body is relaxed, energy flows. When the mind is calm, it embraces the Qi which strengthens the body. Physical health and mental well-being are closely interconnected. Among the Chinese healing arts and longevity practices, Qigong promotes peacefulness in both body and mind.

In order to begin this pathway towards health and well-being, in Level 1 we will learn six classic Qigong techniques that relax the body and two standing Qigong postures that concentrate our inner energy. In Level 2, we will learn how to send energy throughout the body by using the nine self-massage practices. We will conclude our programme by learning the practice of the 12 Devas – one of the most effective techniques used in repairing physical injuries and enhancing muscular-skeletal strength.

There are no pre-requisites. If you wish to get started on improving your physical health and mental well-being, this programme is for you.

The Qigong of Xiantianwujimen Taoism

Xiantianwujimen is a Taoist lineage founded by Chen Xiyi in 10th century China. “Xiantian” means prmordial, “wuji” means limitless, and “men” means gate. The translated name of the lineage is Primordial Limitless Gate.

This lineage specializes in internal alchemy and has specialised in using Qigong to simultaneously cultivate and transform body and mind. A hermit and household tradition, Xiantianwujimen has been transmitted uninterrupted for over a thousand years. Qigong techniques favored by this lineage include self-massage, tendon-changing, calisthenics, marrow-washing, and breath regulation.
