Come and discover meditation at the Dechen Choling Shambhala Centre, near Limoges. A free day open to everyone, one Sunday of each month, from 10am to 5pm.

Programme

The day is a mixture of meditation, taught sessions and group discussion.

  • Morning: instruction and practice, questions and discussion
  • Afternoon: sitting meditation, contemplative practice, walking meditation in the grounds of the chateau.

The programme is led by a Shambhala teacher and a meditation instructor and is organized by volunteers from our Limousin meditation group. Taught in French. No translation.

People who are new to mindfulness will be offered meditation instruction. Newcomers will be practicing alongside more experienced meditators and members of the Dechen Choling staff.

Contributions to the centre are very welcome.

Message from Tessa, this Sunday’s teacher:

Why meditate?

We will reflect and discuss these three approaches to meditation:

The effects of meditation, as described by Western science, Shambhala teachings and Buddhist teachings.
What do they have in common, and are they very different?
We will spend Sunday, May 7 and June 4 talking about these topics
