Whether you’re new to meditation, an experienced practitioner, or engaged in mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), this retreat offers space for deep reflection, renewal, and growth.
Guided by the teachings of Jon Kabat-Zinn, the retreat includes practices such as the body scan, sitting and walking meditation, mindfulness yoga, Qigong, and several days of silence. These practices help integrate mindfulness into daily life, building resilience and tools for managing stress.
Mathias will guide participants to explore “the four foundations of mindfulness” as presented by Buddha in his early teaching phase: mindfulness of body, mindfulness of sensations, mindfulness of states of mind and mindfulness of all phenomena perceived. We will be exploring different kinds of mindfulness practice: from formal meditation to informal mindfulness practice ( “choiceless awareness” or objectless awareness), leading up to direct perception and to a taste of the nature of mind.
This retreat fulfills the prerequisites for the MBSR professional training and is highly recommended for current or aspiring mindfulness teachers. Support and guidance will be provided by experienced instructors to ensure a rewarding experience.
Join us for this 6-day journey into mindfulness, open to all who are committed to silence and self-discovery.
Background
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a programme of practical, scientifically-supported teachings to reduce stress, facilitate relaxation, and promote physical health and emotional well-being. Inspired by the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, this retreat offers tools for engaging the demands of our lives, including illness, chronic pain, personal crisis, or the ongoing challenges of a “full catastrophe”. By relating directly with our bodies, emotions and our hearts, we will discover the power of mindfulness to change our lives. Through sitting, walking, and body scan meditation practices, as well as mindful yoga, we will return to our lives better equipped to manage daily or extraordinary stress situations.
In order to receive a certificate of participation for those in the MBSR professional training, participants must attend all practice sessions.
