Shambhala Training
Developed by Chögyam Trungpa in 1976, Shambhala Training offers teachings based on the vision that each of us have a natural source of innate wakefulness that we can discover, cultivate and express in our life.
This path is open to anyone seeking to develop gentleness and strength through meditation. Shambhala Training is a series of five contemplative workshops suited for both beginning and experienced meditators. The simple and profound technique of mindfulness and awareness that is used can benefit people of any spiritual tradition and way of life.
Meditation practice helps us to examine our states of mind without trying to change them. This practice encourages openness to ourselves and to our surroundings. It transforms the way we habitually see our life and our world, making our old habits and patterns more transparent and leaving room for a more direct appreciation of situations.
Altogether, Levels 1 to 5 of the Shambhala Training provide a strong foundation in mindfulness-awareness meditation practice, emphasizing the development of genuineness, confidence, humour, and dignity within the complexity of daily life.
Shambhala Training Level II: Birth of the Warrior
Our practice of meditation will allow us to observe moments of relaxation in which we can not only touch our profound nature but also see how we create a cocoon of habits that prevents us from living fully.
This programme includes walking and sitting meditation, talks, silent periods, group discussions. Although it is taught in French, translation to English is available upon request two months in advance.
No prerequisites – you may register even if you have not yet done Level 1 of the Shambhala Training.
