Shambhala is a global community. There are thousands of members and friends of Shambhala worldwide, on all continents. We have online communities and more than 200 Shambhala centres and groups located in major cities, towns and in rural settings in over 50 different countries.
Dechen Choling is the primary retreat centre of Shambhala Europe, its unique residential centre interacting with all urban centres. Shambhala Europe is now a mandala of over 70 centres and groups, with over 1500 members. Since its inception in 1994, Dechen Chöling has given people of all practice levels a place to discover themselves in meditation, and to deepen their understandings of the Buddhist and Shambhala teachings. It has become a fertile ground for people of all European countries, and indeed all continents, to study and practice together in beautiful surroundings, and in a dignified atmosphere.
