Dear Shambhala Friends,
Dechen Chöling is launching its End-of-Year Fundraising campaign for 2022. This is our biggest fundraiser and this year, we need your support more than ever!
But first, we would like to share some insights about next year with you. Following the energy of the summer where a vibrant group of practitioners gathered in Dechen Chöling, we have prepared a very rich and diverse programme for 2023

The major event next summer will be the Warrior Assembly, from July 9th to 20th. It will also be a special time for long-time Shambhala warriors to convene, renewing their own practice, supporting the new warriors and practicing together. This brings health and lungta to our beloved land center. We hope that all of you will find an incentive to come to Dechen Chöling next year. That’s the first and best way to support us!
End-of-Year Fundraising
Today, we are reaching out for your financial support as our current situation at the end of this year is becoming critical. As it was announced at the September AGM, the net result for the year 2022 shows a deficit of 100, 000 euros and we will be left with a cash flow in the bank of around 30,000 euros. This is not enough to bridge the first months of the year where traditionally our incomes are minimal. We start to receive payments from registrations by mid-march. We will need approximately 40,000 euros to help us move towards the spring. Of this amount, half has already been offered by the European donors group,as a matching grant so every euro you give will be matched by an equal sum. Our goal here is to receive 20,000 euros from all of you. We believe that by harnessing our efforts we can launch Dechen Chöling into a new era.
In the meantime we, the Council and the staff of 7, of which 4 are working part time, are putting all their efforts to prepare for next year, working on communication, publicity, maintenance and improvement in many areas of the operations. We have no more cooks so the staff who is living in Dechen Chöling is self-organized. The Drala Hall has been closed to save heating expenses during the winter.
Our deepest wish is to move towards more financial stability and be able to offer the programs that we have planned.
So please donate before the end of 2022 and help Dechen Chöling start 2023 with great lungta!
With our deepest gratitude for your generosity and our warmest wishes,
The interim Council
