This article is a repost of the December 13 second emailing sent by Dechen Chöling Director, Konstanze Brockstedt, regarding the first End of Year fundraising campaing launched by our residential centre.
Dear Friends,
Our End of Year Fundraising Campaign has been off to a good start. Up to now we have already raised 11.000 Euros! Thank you all for your generous support!
Our goal is to reach 25.000 Euros. No matter how big or small your donation, for every Euro we receive, the European Donor Group will match it, all the way up to 25.000 Euros! So we have the opportunity to potentially raise 50.000 Euros with this campaign.
Please consider helping us reach this goal. This is a critical time for Dechen Chöling in making it through winter with a typically low cash flow as well as for gathering forces for the next year.
As I mentioned in my previous letter, we as the staff of Dechen Chöling, have started a process of evaluating and restructuring our work flow. We recently engaged in a processing week, offered to us by two sangha members, who have professional background working with organisations and assessing their work structures, combining both the wisdom from the East and the West.
It felt good and helpful to have external guidance in this process. The week allowed for openly and genuinely assessing the various elements of our work life. The exchanges were rewarding for the staff and gave a fresh perspective on what it means to live and work at Dechen Chöling. Towards the end of the week we all engaged in a team building exercise to raise awareness about how we can work together toward shared goals.
Our facilitators left us with a very interesting new approach to our organisation, mainly around the building and combining of teams within our larger structure, and clear steps of how we could make that change happen. This new approach was received with a lot of enthusiasm and it is now up to us to implement and evaluate this change over the next months.
We hope that this will lead not only to a more satisfying work structure, stronger teams and a sense of shared responsibility, but hopefully will also allow us to roughly stay within the current size of the team.
Meanwhile we have also finalised our plans for our programme calendar 2019. Most of our programmes are online now and registrations are already coming in. Click here to have a look!
I would like to remind you that this End of Year Campaign is Dechen Chöling´s main opportunity to raise major funds, since we will no longer be included in the Shambhala Day fundraising. For more details on this new fundraising approach please click here.
